About Carolyn
Carolyn's passion for all things creative started when she was young. She was making her own dresses at the age of 12, using a treadle machine and the fabric of her mother's 1950's peasant skirts.
Over the years she has appiled her creativity to leadlight, puppets, sculpture, oils, quilting, embroidery, lampshades, dolls, teddies and metalwork.
In February 2004 the label, GEOLOGY urban fossil dropped into Carolyn's head. Her first thought was 'that's exactly what I do' taking existing garments and turning them into new pieces.
The explosion of creativity and skill that followed has at times shocked her. It was at this point that she started to refer to herself as a Textile Artist.
